A newborn baby is precious and delicate, so most moms strictly control the infant’s surroundings, their interactions, and the medication that they take. But so much has been out of Nosipho’s (Nompilo Maphumulo) hands since the birth of her son, Muzi (played by various babies). Muzi has been in and out of hospitals and clinics thanks to his uncertain health, and Nosipho is being run ragged because he hasn’t been getting any better. “She’s worried about her baby boy, he’s just constantly sick and she’s afraid he won’t get the help he needs. This child means everything to Nosipho, and she’s blocked the whole world out, he’s the only thing that matters to her,” says Nompilo. Then, on Monday, 20 March, Muzi has a medical emergency that spirals into tragedy . . .
