Straddling avant-garde to decorative, the Italian biennial event Euroluce 2023 offered a spectacular visual feast for the eyes and showcased how luminaires could work for us ahead in a high-tech world.

The world’s largest furniture event Salone del Mobile brings with it Euroluce – an event where technology, design and lifestyles are translated into expressive and creative forms of lighting. The International Lighting Exhibition this year celebrates its 31st edition at Rho Fiera. The new exhibition layout designed by Lombardini22 was divided into four pavilions for 315 exhibitors, of which 45% is from outside Italy.
This year, Euroluce 2023 showcased both retrospective and introspective insights into the design dimension of light. The sprawling 29,229 sqm exhibition space allowed better visitor flows and the principles of design for all through a circular shape where a fluid itinerary could be savoured. Attendees were treated to product offerings from many of the top lighting brands from around the world through the open displays that encouraged easier exploration.
The show space allowed guests to notice a push for modularity, customisation, compositional freedom, and a more holistic approach to design.
While the more decorative and sculptural exhibits drew higher footfall, there were also brands that demonstrated creations informed by colourful and poetic aesthetics. All in all, Euroluce 2023 was designed to be immersive, propelling attendees to discover new products and innovations. Here were some highlights:
