What better way to celebrate Gen Y, than to dedicate this issue of Perfect Professional to them. A lot of effort has gone in to decode Gen Y. Our theme based articles give us insights on what shapes this generation and their characteristics. The \'Kaliedoscope ‘explores their formidable presence at the work place through the lens of 5 different industries-event management, retail, construction, airlines and BPO.

Our interviews have captured two interesting perspectives-one on Gen Y and the other from Gen Y. One brings out how labels are merely labels and the need to look beyond. The other interview describes the unconventional journey of agent Y and his spiritual pursuits. \'Gen Y Turk in Action\' is all about the dynamism and forthrightness of youth in enterprise.

We have also looked at how academia is responding to the needs of this generation-the changes in curriculum, teaching methodologies and other areas. It makes us sit up and look at this generation that is stating their dreams and aspirations loud and clear. This issue\'s \'profession in focus\' features rather unique profession-a Radio Jockey. It brings out the nuances involved in this profession and a few other qualities required to excel in this Gen Y career option.

We have a new section titled \'Personal Effectiveness\' towards the end of this issue. The self-test helps you ascertain how personally effective you are. We offer the readers a few suggestions as they move into the self-exploration mode. We hope you enjoy reading all the articles, as much as we enjoyed putting them together.
