This issue of India Outbound opens with a collage of our memories from around the world with little
notes that might inspire you to travel. India has become the fastest growing outbound travel market
in the world and is only bound to escalate more. The rise is due to increasing disposable incomes as
well as a boost from various social media platforms. We have all the details in our article on the
story of the smart Indian travellers. Do check it out before you get lost in the rush of adventure at
theme parks in the Middle East. We explore some of the best rides and entertainment facilities there
are in the region! We then head to Jerusalem, a country that is sacred to half the human race. It is
also a destination where the gourmands can head as with its strong culture comes rich food too!

have choices aplenty! We are now headed West to the United States of America for a roadtrip in
California on one of the most popular routes- the over 1,000 km State Route 1, also called the
Pacific Coast Highway. In East, we go to Sharjah for its annual light festival and also in the Indian
Ocean to Sri Lanka and Mauritius. We end with expert talks bringing you excerpts from our interview
with Claude Micallef, sales director, Bateaux Mouches, Paris. A luxury boat experience on the river
Seine in the City of Lights, Bateaux Mouches is looking at Indian travellers. Also looking at the Indian
market is Reunion Island, a French territory in the Indian Ocean.
