On Saturday, my mother had a massive heart attack at the hospital at the age of 90. We decided to honor her wishes not to put her on life support. I told my brother to lay the phone on the pillow next to Mom, and I told her that I loved her and not to wait for me to get there. I told her that she could go see my dad, who'd passed.
