George wanted to impress his daughter and his incredible revelation didn't disappoint
Lovely dinner. Thank you, Laura,' said Kirsty, putting down her knife and fork.
Laura smiled at her daughter's polite friend. She loved it when Helen brought her round for meals.
'I'm not hungry,' Helen sighed, pushing away her plate.
'But it's roast chicken,' said George. Your favourite! What's the matter?' His daughter frowned.
'Nothing.' 'Come on, not eating your favourite dinner is hardly nothing, George persisted.
'She's upset that Her Voice has split, Laura explained.
George frowned. 'Dear me, have you been to the doctor?' Helen rolled her eyes. 'Dad!" 'Her Voice is a pop group, Laura continued. 'Helen loves them.' 'Until they split,' said Helen.
She turned to Kirsty. 'My dad's so out of touch. Can you believe he thinks Harry Styles is a barber's shop on the high street?' 'Isn't it?' asked George innocently.
'Don't listen to him, laughed Laura. 'He's just winding you up.' 'I don't know... he could be for real,' said Helen.
'Come on! I'm far more aware of the world around me than your generation is,' said George.
'Really?' asked Helen.
'Really. All you care about are pop groups and TikTok. When
I was young, I was interested in global issues.' 'Global issues?' cried Helen.
'Aren't you the generation that put a hole in the ozone layer?'
'Well, yes,' George frowned.
