Too cold and miserable to be active outdoors? Don't worry – these indoor moves will help keep you fit and well

Cold weather WORKOUT

With winter on its way it can be tricky to stay fit and mobile outdoors. But these moves are great for an indoor workout to help keep you flexible and ease any winter aches and pains.

'As we age, different muscles – such as the core, glutes, upper back, shoulders and legs – begin to stiffen if they're not properly maintained,' says personal trainer James Brady, from OriGym. This can result in creaky joints, bad posture and difficulty moving. Fear not, with these at-home exercises you can look and feel your best – all winter long.

YOUR SIX MOVES

This simple yet effective workout targets key areas of the body focusing on boosting flexibility by activating those muscles that can become tight as we get older. Aim to do this workout around three times a week for better mobility, a firmer body and a youthful glow from the inside out.

image1 SEATED FORWARD BEND

Sit tall, legs in front of you. Inhale, stretch your arms up, lengthening the spine and lifting the chest. Exhale, bend forward from the hips with a straight back and rest your hands on your legs. Repeat and hold, breathing deeply.
