MEASUREMENTS
Nose to tail 18cm/7in. Top of head to foot 16cm/6in.
MATERIALS
1 x 50g (175m) ball of Rowan Felted Tweed DK (50% wool, 25% viscose, 25% alpaca) in each of Light Brown (Rose Quartz 206) and Dark Brown (Phantom 153), and small amounts of DK yarn in Red and 4ply yarn in Black*. Pair of 3mm (No. 11) knitting needles, plus spare needle for 3-needle castoff; toy stuffing; pair of 5mm black domed safety eyes. Yarn is available from theknittingnetwork.co.uk.
TENSION
Not essential for this project.
ABBREVIATIONS
Inc, increase by working twice into the same st; k, knit; p, purl; ss, stocking stitch (k on right side and p on wrong side); ssk, one by one, slip next 2 sts from left to right needle, return them to left needle and k them tog tbl; st(s), stitch(es); tbl, through the back of the loops; tog, together (decrease by working as many sts together as stated); up1, pick up horizontal strand lying between needles and k into back of it (to increase 1 st).

Yarn amounts are based on average requirements and are approximate. Figures in square brackets are worked as stated after 2nd bracket. HEAD
With 3mm needles and Light Brown, cast on 14 sts. P 1 row.
2nd row (right side): K1, [inc, k1, inc] to last st, k1 – 22 sts. P 1 row.
4th row: K1, [inc, k3, inc] to last st, k1 – 30 sts. P 1 row.
6th row: K1, [inc, k5, inc] to last st, k1 – 38 sts.**
Ss 5 rows.
12th row: K1, up1, k15, ssk, k2, k2tog, k15, up1, k1.
13th row: P to end.
Repeat last 2 rows, twice more. Ss 4 rows.
22nd row: K2, ssk, k to last 4 sts, k2tog, k2 – 36 sts.
23rd row: P to end.
