Laughing Through The Parenthood

My elder brother says that kids are a blessing, gifts of Mother Nature. Kids, I feel, are also innocence personified (especially when asleep). It won't be far-fetched to say that every household that has kids is also highly likely to witness some amusing comic occurrences and utterances on the account of those kids. For instance, when it was my son's fourth birthday, he woke up in the morning, dashed straight to the mirror, and then, somewhat dejected, asked why his body was still the same size and why it showed no growth despite it being his birthday!

For another instance, a relative's three-year-old daughter, upon seeing everyone in the family enjoying tingly-tangy gol gappas on an outing in the evening, demanded one herself. Her mother, worrying about the spices for her little-one, handed her a dry gol gappa. The young one had been observing the actions of paani puri waala, and exclaimed that she should also be given the gol gappa only after washing it thoroughly!

Another instance, as often narrated by my mother, when my older brother was around two years old, he saw my mother's grandfather pull out his dentures and brush them. Deeply impacted by the scene, he gripped his own teeth and began pulling them!
