ROSE DEBUT

If you’re looking for a star rose for a border or container, or to train as a small climber, check out the ‘Oxford Physic Rose’ (right), which was launched at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Created by rose growers Peter Beales, to commemorate the University of Oxford Botanic Garden’s 400th anniversary, it has semi-double, shell-pink blooms with an open shape and carries a strong, sweet perfume.
