As the star showcases her incredible new look, she is ready to take on a new challenge

Throughout her many decades in the limelight, Fern Britton has been honest about her fluctuating weight. Like many of us, the star admits that she overindulged when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, saying, 'I was lying in bed, waking up late, eating and not exercising... Although my gastric band is an old one [she had it fitted in 2006], it still has its powers. Good food finds it hard to get through but you can still eat chocolate and drink wine.'

Now, though, the star, who is reported to have fluctuated between sizes 12 and 22 over the years and said she turned to food for 'self-comfort', is looking incredible and showing off her new physique on Instagram. Posting the picture, Fern, 67, wrote, 'Repowering after a sloth-like winter.'

And personal trainer Laurel Alper tells Woman that Fern appears to have dropped two dress sizes in recent years. 'She looks like she's gone from a size 18 to a size 14 and has lost 3-4st,' she reveals, adding that in the past year alone Fern has lost 'at least a stone, possibly a stone-and-a-half'.
