Some senior MOMENTS

Michèle's milestone is a wee way off, but she's gagging for the morning teas!

There has been a letter in my mailbox inviting me to a “seniors’ morning tea”. It was from my local member of Parliament, keen to canvas constituents at 10am on a Friday about the issues that matter.

He suggested cost of living, health and crime, but no doubt he'd be open to other ideas. I've never been to a seniors’ morning tea (unless you count visits to my mother's care facility) and would've popped along to raise the environment and gender pay gap, but I'll be at work.

It's a moment worth recognising - my first invitation to political discourse over what I hope would be scones, if not asparagus rolls. A milestone that lets you know the world's view of you is changing, even if you feel no different from when you were 18 - aside from the knee and the glasses.
