It's a bittersweet fresh start for the star as her adult kids make their own way in the world

Gwyneth's identity crisis 'WHO AM I NOW?"

She's an Oscar winner, a wellness guru and a mother of two. Now Gwyneth Paltrow is getting used to a new phase in her life - empty nester.

“They abandoned me!” the Shakespeare in Love star smiled recently when asked about her now-adult children Apple, 21, and Moses, 19.

“They all went to college! They're happy and great, which is just what you want, but it's also weird and lonely. There's this deep grief that comes with letting go, saying goodbye and then calling into question your own purpose. Who am I now?” Gwyneth, it seems, didn't have to ponder the question for long. After years of only accepting work that would fit around her family, she recently filmed her first substantial movie role in 15 years.

The movie, called Marty Supreme, is tipped to premiere at this year's Venice Film Festival and features Gwyneth, 52, as the passionate lover of 29-year-old co-star Timothée Chalamet.

Photos have already emerged of the pair kissing enthusiastically for the cameras in New York's Central Park and despite their 23-year age difference, Gwyneth says they were comfortable enough with each other to turn down the offer of an intimacy coordinator.
