Blue doesn't have to mean safe. "For a refreshing yet sophisticated take, go for robin egg blue or periwinkle blue. Offset it with fresh white for more crisp colour-blocking. Mauve, butterscotch yellow or even pista green when paired with blue looks great. Opt for tone-on-tone embroidery such as kantha or even chikankari," suggest Sonam and Paras Modi of SVA. "For an evening indoor function, consider a cobalt blue or a deep teal. Silver embroidered accents will stand out in this case."
