Audio Pro's Director of EMEA Sales talks sustainability, Indian markets and the future of Audio Pro in India

THE TRUE PRO

Meet Alexandre Thenevin, the Director of Sales at high-end hi-fi brand Audio Pro. Regular readers will be familiar with some of its products, which have won many What HiFi Awards over the years. On a recent visit to the impressive Alphatec India office, we got a chance to talk to Alexandre about Audio Pro’s journey in India and what it is that makes the Audio Pro brand so special.

What Hi-Fi?: How has the experience been in the Indian market so far for Audio Pro?

Alexandre: I would say India is quite a new market for Audio Pro. We are amazed by the potential of the market and how the economy is growing so fast! You guys are very dynamic and you are already really deep into a digital world. We see big potential in the Indian market, the population is young, so they have a better understanding and a quicker understanding on how the technology could help them, so we love it!

What is at the heart of Audio Pro? What shapes the brand?

Our business is just to deliver music. Music is passion, you can listen to Bollywood or to metal or reggae or whatever. However, our job is to make the people happy by providing the opportunity to listen to their music. And I would say, this is the decade of music. Access to music has never been so easy. You have multiple streaming options available now for very little money. Even if it is a young guy with a smartphone, he can access music for very little to no money. So depending on the money one can spend, we have the type of products and progress for them on their music listening journey.

How do you plan to integrate Audio Pro at a personal level?

Pro-Ject nails the affordable Bluetooth turntable recipe

There are some combinations that work beautifully, even if you wouldn't necessarily consider putting them together in the first place. Beans on toast is an odd combination when you think about it, as is surf and turf, while carrots in a cake has no right to be as good as it is. Mixing poached eggs with smoked salmon is essentially combining poultry and fish, but no one complains when a bougie brunch spot has Eggs Royale on the menu, do they?
