GOOGLE EXPANDS AI MODE GLOBALLY WITH NEW AGENTIC FEATURES TO BOOST USER PRODUCTIVITY
Techlife News
|Techlife News #721
Google is taking its Al ambitions to the next level with the global expansion of Al Mode, the company’s system-wide integration of its Gemini models across Android and Workspace.
-
Alongside the rollout, Google announced a suite of new “agentic” features—tools designed to let Al not only respond to prompts but also take initiative in handling complex, multi-step tasks on behalf of users.
A GLOBAL ROLLOUT AFTER MONTHS OF TESTING
Initially introduced in limited markets in early 2025, Al Mode has now gone worldwide, bringing Gemini-powered assistance to smartphones, tablets, laptops, and Google services. The company says the rollout includes support for over 100 languages, with features tailored for both individual and enterprise users.
Al Mode works as a persistent layer in the Google ecosystem, allowing Gemini to run continuously in the background. Instead of waiting for direct user queries, it can proactively suggest actions, summarize information across apps, and even carry out tasks end-to-end. For example, it can identify an upcoming trip in Gmail, automatically generate an itinerary using Maps and Calendar, and send confirmations to contacts without requiring constant user input.
NEW AGENTIC FEATURES: FROM RESPONDING TO ACTINGThe biggest update is the addition of “agentic” capabilities, a step toward making Al less reactive and more autonomous. Google outlined several new features at launch: Task Chaining: AI Mode can now handle multi-step processes, such as planning a meeting by checking multiple calendars, booking a venue, and emailing invitations.
