Microsoft's AI Push Comes with a Human Cost: 9,000 Jobs Gone

Microsoft has announced plans to lay off up to 9,000 employees in its latest wave of job cuts for 2025, affecting roughly 4% of its global workforce.

While the company has not disclosed which divisions will be most impacted, reports suggest that its Xbox gaming unit is among those affected. The layoffs follow three earlier rounds of cuts this year, including 6,000 roles in May.
