Raj Kapoor's ear for creativity in music led to the discovery of these geniuses. 'Barsaat in 1949 was the take-off point. The duo continued unchallenged till 1971 till the death of Jaikishan. Although Shankar gave good music in films like 'Sanyasi', 'Garam Khoon' etc luck was not on his side and most of his films did not fare well at the box office thereby limiting the success of the music.
