EDITING SOFTWARE PODCASTING

Starting a podcast can be a labour of love. Your goal is to reach an audience and move them, engage them, even sway them!

So, even if you’re the most fabulous orator on the planet, I would recommend you do at least a light edit of your recording to best serve your goals. If nothing else, give yourself the freedom to make flubs and do retakes because you know you’ll be able to cut them out in the edit.

Editing may look hard, especially if you’ve never worked with sound before, but it’s really not. I always tell my workshop students not to be daunted: if you have worked in a document before, and know how to cut, copy, paste and undo (Control or Command X, C, V, and Z) … you can edit audio.

Besides there are hundreds of tutorials online in video and text, with troubleshooting guides for any place you get stuck. It’s easy to teach yourself and get going with the basics. Best of all, the more you do, the faster you’ll get.
