The cloud game has changed. From latency battles to AI-led automation, discover how modern infrastructure is shedding its old skin and becoming the intelligent engine behind innovation, speed, and business resilience
Cloud used to be just about storing things on someone else's computer.
Not anymore. In a world that's spinning faster with every click, stream, and swipe, cloud computing has grown into something much biggerand much smarter.
We sat down with Mitesh Jain, Regional Vice President, Akamai India, who offered a lens into how the very definition of cloud optimization has evolved, how automation is reshaping everything from provisioning to innovation, and why the cloud is no longer a cost center, but a strategic powerhouse.
This isn't just about the cloud. It's about survival, speed, and scale in the age of AI and edge computing.
Cloud optimization isn't what it used to be
Once upon a time, cloud optimization meant trimming excess and picking the right virtual machines. Efficiency was the name of the game. But today? It's a whole orchestra of moving parts, driven by data, AI, and edge computing.
The focus has shifted from merely cost-cutting to value creation. Optimization today is about financial resilience through FinOps, intelligently migrating workloads, and building platforms that are cloud agnostic and Kubernetes-ready. This provides a flexibility that allows developers to deploy and scale applications across multiple providers.
