Repair Photos libraries

How can I check and restore the integrity of my Photos libraries?

You should only attempt this after backing up each Photos library. For those stored in your Home folder, Time Machine or an equivalent is fine, but Apple recommends that libraries stored on external volumes aren't backed up by Time Machine, but by simply copying them to backup storage instead.
