Improved battery life and tougher front glass lead the way

- ROB MEAD-GREEN

Apple Watch Series 11

Features 42mm or 46mm sizes, Apple S10 chip, Always-On Retina LTP03 display, up to 24 hours of battery life (normal use) or 38 hours in Low Power Mode, GPS, mobile connectivity options, speaker with audio playback

WHILE THE APPLE Watch Series 11 looks to be almost identical to its Series 10 predecessor, under-the-hood changes make it a great upgrade option for anyone with an older Apple Watch. The chief of these is much longer battery life. While previous Apple Watch models barely lasted longer than 18 hours a day, the Series 11 can last up to 24 hours, with up to 38 hours possible in Low Power Mode (two more than before). Plus, it now has Ion-X front glass, making it two times tougher than the previous version. This is a welcome improvement that should ensure your Watch’s glass stays scratch- and crack-free for longer (something that’s not always been the case in the past).

Apple Watch Series 11 prices start at $399 for an aluminum 42mm GPS model, rising to $499 for a GPS + Cellular version with 5G mobile connectivity on board (previous models only had LTE). 46mm aluminum prices start at $429 and rise to $529 for 5G-ready GPS + Cellular versions. Both sizes come in a choice of four colors: Space Gray, Silver, Rose Gold, and Jet Black. All models are available with either a silicone or textile strap as standard, or you can opt for a stainless-steel strap at additional cost.
