We're living in the digital age where all things from entertainment to dating have now shifted to the virtual world. This is an era characterized by constant connectivity & digital interaction. In this hyper-digital world, one could easily assume that loneliness is a thing of the past. However, paradoxically, the digital age has brought about a new era of loneliness. People are now actively isolating while being chronically online on 'social' media which I cannot really wrap my head around. The digital age has unparalleled connectivity at our fingertips. We have a number of social media platforms, messaging apps, and video conferencing tools that have changed the way we communicate with each other. However, amid this dense web of virtual relationships, true & genuine human connection has lost its true meaning. Loneliness creeps into people's hearts as they scroll their days away through a carefully curated feed designed to showcase only the best, comparing their lives to the highlights of people's portrayed lives and lifestyles.
