Str8bat - A CRICKETER'S COMEBACK WITH A TWIST OF TECH

The Shark Tank-featured gadget does show a lot of promise

Cricket isn't just a sport for most Indians; it’s an emotion, a memory, a dream partially lived. For me, it’s all of that and more. So when I got the chance to try out Str8bat, a smart sticker that turns your regular bat into a tech-enabled swing analyser, I jumped in with both feet and a slightly rusty shoulder.

Str8bat caught national attention with its Shark Tank India debut, but the real test for any cricket gadget is in the nets. And so began a mini-mission: dust off my bat, borrow a kit from my neighbour's kid (cheers, Ishaan), book an indoor net to dodge the monsoon, and call up a couple of equally nostalgic teammates, namely Aadithya and Divesh. We were three former wannabe cricketers about to relive our glory days, this time armed with a sensor and an app.
