There appears to be no end in sight for Ludogorets' domination of football in Bulgaria.
-
By winning their 14th league title in a row, they equalled the all-time European record jointly held by Skonto Riga (Latvia) and Lincoln Red Imps (Gibraltar), and show little sign of stopping there. The 11-point margin over second-place Levski Sofia wasn't even in their top five biggest leads; only on four occasions has the gap been any less than seven. This time they secured the title with five games left, at which point they appeared to put their feet up, drawing four and losing one of those matches.
There was also little surprise in Red Star Belgrade winning Serbia's crown once again, extending their winning streak to eight. This was one of their most emphatic to date, notching 100 points, 27 more than arch-rivals Partizan in second, and scoring 123 goals. In total, 22 different players got on the scoresheet over the course of the season.
