Poole at the double as Cov knock off the rust

LED by two tries from skipper Jordon Poole, rusty Coventry got their spring Championship campaign underway with a bonus point win over Cambridge.

The five-week mid-season break enabled the Blue-and-Whites to restore a number of players to fitness and they outscored the injury-hit visitors by seven tries to five.

But Cov, who built a 31- 14 interval advantage, will feel they missed an opportunity to deliver a statement win through a mis-firing second-half display in which they made plenty of errors and too often fell foul of referee Dan Jones.
