STEVE Cotterill hailed Forest Green Rovers’ first class performance as they produced a spirited comeback to topple fellow high-flyers Eastleigh at the Silverlake Stadium.

BOSS COTT'S GOT A REALLY GOOD THING WITH ROVERS

Second-half goals from Harry Cardwell, Charlie McCann and an own goal by Spitfires’ defender Jake Vokins saw Cotterill’s men overturn a Chris Maguire first-half strike.

Rovers’ resolute second-half display played on the back of a dominant first period which saw Spitfires’ goalkeeper, Joe McDonnell in inspired form to keep Cotterill’s side out.

“Our football today was first class,” Cotterill beamed with his side second in the table, three points off leaders Barnet.

“We were great, we pressed the ball really well and I thought we were deserved winners today.

“I’m slightly disappointed that we didn’t more goals. In the first half, before they even got their goal, we should’ve been three or four up.
