WATT WORKS FOR ME ANNA HENDERSON

How important is off-bike training? It’s super easy to neglect it, especially when you're travelling a lot and you're not in your own space. I have dipped into Pilates recently, and I'm really enjoying it - just slowing down off the bike, engaging my muscles and working on small muscles. The stability needed to hold a TT position takes strength in your shoulders and your inner core. Pilates adds a balance to training that is too often just: go fast, go hard.

What's the most important lesson you've learned from a coach? That more, or faster, is not always better. I have learned that pushing full-gas all the time doesn’t necessarily make you better - it can just make you more tired. Slowing down and trusting the process is something I've been taught by my coaches through the years, which has definitely helped.
