In the shadow of his more illustrious brother, Joe Pidcock has also joined Q36.5
-
Tom Pidcock is the headline name at Q36.5, but he’s not the only Pidcock donning the team’s livery: his brother Joe has turned pro with the second-tier team.
The younger Pidcock, 22, has made the step up to professional level after four years racing in the U23 ranks, first for Groupama-FDJ’s development team and latterly for the now-defunct Trinity Racing.
His past two seasons have been blighted by three cases of concussion, but as a fast finisher and a rider capable of getting over climbs, Pidcock won a stage of the prestigious U23 race Ronde de l’Isard last May.
In it to win it
Pidcock said: "I wouldn't have accepted a place here if I didn't think I was capable," pointing to his past successes.
"If you want to win, you've got to do it yourself," he added.
"In both my wins last year [he also won a national race in Ireland], I called it a month out.
