IPL 2023: RATING THE CAPTAINS OF ALL 10 TEAMS

The Indian Premier League 2023 season is finally starting on March 31 with 10 teams to battle it out for the coveted title. Gujarat Titans are the defending champions of the cash-rich league. After a solid IPL 2023 mini-auction in December, the tournament now promises plenty of fervour going forward. One of the major highlights will be how the captains fare and lead their respective units. Several teams have fresh skippers and that's going to make the tournament pretty interesting. A captain is only as good as his side and going forward the role will be important for the respective players in fray. The IPL 2023 season starts with Chennai Super Kings taking on Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Here we rate the captains ahead of a cracking season in store.

1. SHIKHAR DHAWAN (PUNJAB KINGS)

Veteran opener Shikhar Dhawan will lead Punjab this season after the franchise once again chose to change several personnel and opt for new management and leadership. Dhawan replaces Mayank Agarwal as skipper. An experienced campaigner, Dhawan has led India in limited overs in recent past. He will be keen to lead from the front and perform ably at the top. PBKS have several shortcomings in the side and Dhawan has work to do. We rate him 6/10.

2. KL RAHUL (LUCKNOW SUPER GIANTS)
