Shortly before I started on Retro Gamer, I had a housemate whose boyfriend would always turn off the music in videogames if given the option.

I was baffled by that choice, as music is often crucial to creating the mood the developers intended, so I always leave it on. There's only a single game that I'd follow his lead on, and of course it's one that doesn't give you an option to disable the music.
