ONGOING RFIS: AN AMBITIOUS ROAD TO 2024

Timely acquisition of military gear is a strategic imperative for any nation. It is extremely important for maintaining sovereignty and military superiority. Tremendous efforts have been put in by Indian defence industry in achieving self-reliance of our military needs over the last few years. The Indian government's vision and policy implementation by the Ministry of Defence, wholeheartedly support the industry. The Indian armed forces are also supporting the defence industry to achieve the national objective of self-reliance. But, while the indigenous efforts towards the development of advanced weapons and platforms in the country continue unabated, some of the cutting-edge systems required by the Indian armed forces need to be imported from overseas. So, as far as defence modernisation is concerned, the Indian military is maintaining a fine balance between indigenous and imported platforms for fulfilling its needs. Following is a glimpse of some of the ongoing AONs and EOIs (RFIs and RFPs) which may soon materialise as tangible contracts over the next few years.
