Tell us about your journey as a photographer, what motivates you?

I've been a photographer since early 1990 and work full time as a freelance photographer since 2012. My biggest motivation is my passion for images and the strive to create exciting images. I love to learn new techniques and take great inspiration from other photographers and artists.

■ What got you to astro photography? And what do you like the most about it.

I've always been interested in astronomy and in 1995 I bought my first telescope and started to do astrophotography. Since then I've been taking photos of the night sky and different sky phenomena. The more I learn about astronomy and the objects I photograph, the more I want to learn. It's a fascinating subject and one where amateurs can contribute to science in several ways. When starting out, I realized that through my images I was able to teach others about astronomy and astrophotography and that also became one of my motivations to learn more about what I was photographing.
