Spring sees warmer days with plenty of showers - the perfect conditions for insects to flourish and for you to brush up on your macro skills. The most critical of these is focusing - with macro photography, there is much less depth of field to play with and consequently, you often need to use narrower apertures, resulting in slower shutter speeds.

If practical, use some form of support.
