To kick off the 40th anniversary of the People Power 1 EDSA Revolution and continue the anti-corruption advocacy efforts, the Mayors for Good Governance (M4GG), a coalition of incumbent mayors of cities and municipalities in the Philippines, and Kaya Natin!
-
Movement, a non-government organization advocating for ethical leadership, organized “People Power 40 sa QC: Awit at Aksyon Kontra Korapsyon” last February 21 at the Quezon City Circle. Artists, celebrities, singers, and bands performed in a free concert that gathered a crowd of more than 20,000 concerned Filipinos.Kaya Natin! Board Member Senator Bam Aquino recounted in an interview that he was not sure if people would stay for the program that began at 4:30 pm and ended until in the late evening. He said, “Kinabahan ako kasi ang haba ng concert. Natapos 11 pm. In fairness, nag-stay naman ang mga tao. It was really fun.”
How could people not stay? The guest lineup was hard to beat and the repertoire was very meaningful.
The pre-show front acts Madeline, Hey Moonshine, Stonefree, Chloe Redondo, Jkris Dantes, Crispin, Sisa and Bassilyo, TSN Drag, Mz. Chronicles and Jasmine Dudley-Scales set the mood with a festive atmosphere.
