You couldn't make it up: Car fleeing police crashes into gamer's flat

The car crashed into the wall just inches from where Emma Graves was playing on her PlayStation in her flat in Thornhill Road in Armley.

Miss Graves has said the coincidence is "just so ironic", adding: "I literally couldn't make this up. It was not funny at the time, but it was afterwards."

Miss Graves, 44, has since set up a petition for greater traffic-calming measures on the road, which she says is frequently used as a rat run for those travelling between Upper Wortley Road and Tong Road.

Leeds City Council has said officers will be meeting Miss Graves on site to discuss the concerns while West Yorkshire Police have said eight arrests were made following the collision in relation to a wider firearms investigation.

Miss Graves lives at the flat with her mother, for whom she is a full-time carer, and was in her bedroom on the ground floor playing the video game when the crash happened at around 10.40pm on July 2.
