Mental health is healthcare, why isn't ADHD?

've had a lovely cruise! Welcome back to my column... any long time readers will know I was diagnosed with ADHD a few years ago, at the age of 37.

Thanks to my wonderful ADHD, I forgot to take my medication on our cruise, and I went cold turkey for two weeks.

That meant I didn't sleep through one night, I constantly wake up, and on Sunday, I woke at 3am, and couldn't get back to sleep.

That is one sign of many that my ADHD is out of control.

Since my return, I began medication again, and I'm sleeping through. Yay!

A lovely friend of mine has been going through the process of ADHD diagnosis, and frankly, the system is appalling.

The waiting list is now seven years.
