A man who says he was racially assaulted by a child in Briggate says he feels safer in London than Leeds.
Hongji Feng, 25, was racially assaulted by a child while walking in Briggate.
Hongji Feng, 25, said he was in the city centre on New Year's Day when a young child used a racial slur and hit him with something.
Mr Feng, who is from Chongqing in China, has lived in the USA and the Middle East but said he has never experienced a racially aggravated assault, adding that it ruined his time in Leeds.
The incident happened after he travelled from London to visit a friend for a few days.
