'Gun exchange' sparks armed police chase through city

A man panicked and tried to drive the wrong way up the M621 in a bid to outrun armed police.
Leeds Crown Court heard armed officers were called in after a member of the public rang 999 to say they had seen a gun being passed through the window of a VW Passat parked in Midland Road, Hunslet.
Police parked in front of Aaron Banks and ordered him out of the car - but he reversed and sped off towards Balm Road.
Weaving in and out of traffic, he sped towards Belle Isle Road, prosecutor Jordan Millican said, then tried to drive onto the M621 along an exit slip road.
