Ex-England batter Smith set to take over as MCC president

Former England batter and national selector Ed Smith will take over as president of Marylebone Cricket Club later this year.

Smith made three Test appearances for England in 2003 and had a distinguished career for Kent and Middlesex, where he served as captain, between 1996 and 2008, amassing nearly 13,000 first-class runs.
