Entrepreneur turns passion into beauty studio business – at 19
Yorkshire Evening Post
|May 29, 2025
A 19-year-old from Farsley has swapped lecture halls for lashes and launched her own beauty business, Nina Rose Beauty, making Nina Fearnley one of Leeds' youngest salon owners. Her bold and independent path, in her home town, is the realisation of a childhood dream - and testament to the determination of its young founder. Nina spoke with the Yorkshire Evening Post's Dennis Morton:
-
First things first: Where can people find Nina Rose Beauty?
"We're in Farsley," beamed Nina.
And the next obvious question: Why the beauty industry?
"I've always wanted to be in the industry. From a really young age, since I remember, I was painting my own nails, doing things like that. I just absolutely loved it."
So, why Farsley?
"I was born and raised in Farsley, and pursued my passion straight out of school, enrolling at the Yorkshire College of Beauty."
And that involved hands-on, as it were, involvement in salson as part of your training?
"Yes, and after gaining that 'hands-on experience' in local salons, I felt the time had come to take the leap into business ownership."
You had a vision in your own mind from the outset?
"I knew I wanted to have my own studio... I just didn't feel ready for it," she explained. "But, after working at those salons, I felt so ready."
So, you found premises, but was it just a case of taking over and 'off you go' or did the space need adapting?
