Dodds wins top award for work at Scarborough

Yorkshire Evening Post

That magnificent man with his drying machines, Scarborough’s John Dodds, has won the Outgrounds Pitches award for a record seventh time.

- by Chris Waters

Dodds - a good news story for Scarborough at a time when the club has suspended its president, Sir Geoffrey Boycott, for allegedly passing on confidential information to one of those who are seeking to overthrow the embattled board - first won the outgrounds trophy in 2012.

He has consistently produced excellent surfaces with good pace and carry, while Robinson has stepped seamlessly into the big shoes left by the retirement at Yorkshire of Andy Fogarty.
