Connor and Mustapha charged but both eligible to play on derby day
Yorkshire Evening Post
|May 20, 2025
Leeds Rhinos and Castleford Tigers have both had a player charged by the RFL's match review panel ahead of Saturday's derby at the Jungle.
Rhinos' Jake Connor was accused of a grade A 'attempted strike' during last Friday's 18-16 home win against Hull FC.
Connor received one penalty point. He had a previously clean record and faces no further action.
The same applies to Tigers' former Rhinos prop Muizz Mustapha, who received one penalty point for grade A late contact on a passer in Sunday's 48-16 hammering of Salford Red Devils.
But Betfred Super League leaders Hull KR suffered a setback ahead of Friday's Challenge Cup dress rehearsal at Warrington Wolves.
Prop Jared Warea-Hargreaves is set to miss that game and the following week's home clash with St Helens after being handed a two-match ban.
