The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Wednesday passed an interim order, which ensures that the Leader of Opposition (LoP) Partap Singh Bajwa will not face arrest until April 22.
The HC has also sought reply from the Punjab government on Bajwa's petition to quash the FIR registered against him. The next hearing in the matter is fixed for April 22.
The FIR, under sections 353 (2), 197 (1) D, was filed against the Congress leader, after he refused to reveal his source for the statement given to a TV channel in which he had allegedly said that 50 bombs had arrived in Punjab, 18 were used and 32 were still unaccounted for.
