Woodlands add to forestry planting

TWO new woodlands are set to be planted in Devon and Somerset as part of efforts to expand England’s forest cover - with public access, wildlife habitats, and future timber production all key goals.

Forestry England has announced plans for Okement Wood, an 83-hectare site to the north of Okehampton, and Blackwell Wood, a 21-hectare site near Treborough in Exmoor. The projects form part of the government-backed Nature for Climate Fund programme.
