Pirates thrilled to land Aussie forward Suttor

The 26-year-old, born and raised in Avalon, New South Wales, is a former Australian schoolboy and Under-20 international and lead forwards and defence coach Joe Walsh has expressed delight at his arrival.

"Rory is an experienced performer who has played the game in various environments and at a high level," he said. "In terms of ball carrying he can offer a big threat, plus being someone who has been highly regarded we think he will bring value and balance to our back five.

"We are really excited and looking forward to getting him on board."

Suttor, a specialist flanker, has ability to cover all back and second-row positions. Besides in the past having been a member of the NSW Waratahs and representing Warringah in the Shute Shield competition, he has played in Ireland for Munster A, UCC Rugby, and Lansdowne FC, and in Italy for Centurioni Rugby.

"I am absolutely stoked to be joining the Pirates next season, I can't wait to get over to Cornwall and add as much as I can to the team," Suttor said. "Keen for a really big year ahead at such a great club."
