A WOMAN has been prosecuted for falsely claiming more than £4,000 in council tax reduction support while working in a supermarket.

Gail Watkinson, 51, pleaded guilty to two offences at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on February 10, in a case brought by Bridgend County Borough Council.

‘The court heard that Watkinson, of Maes ‘Talcen, Brackla, did not promptly tell the council when she started working for Tesco, resulting in a significant increase to her income. She also failed to say her son had started working for the same company.
