NETFLIX has released some first look images of Gavin & Stacey star Ruth Jones in a brand new thriller series set to air on the streaming platform next year.

The Welsh actress and writer will appear alongside Cold Feet's James Nesbitt in Run Away, Harlan Coben's newest mystery.

The eight-part thriller will launch on New Year's Day, following the pattern of Coben's previous projects Missing You and Fool Me Once. Jones and Nesbitt will be joined by costars Minnie Driver, Alfred Enoch and Lucian Msamati.

The series will follow Simon (Nesbitt) a man who appears to enjoy the "perfect life" with an adoring wife, children and a stunning home. However, everything changes overnight when his eldest daughter Paige runs away and their life crumbles.
