Western Mail Budget deal is good news for Joe Public

LABOUR has avoided a potentially humiliating budget failure by agreeing a deal with Plaid Cymru.

There is no doubt this is good news for Labour, and Plaid will be able to say it has saved the day and avoided the chaos that we had been repeatedly warned would come if no budget could have passed by April.
Mark Drakeford had long said his £380m war chest would be best spent on councils and the NHS, and not only has that happened, it's happened with a speed and ease few were expecting.
But for his political opponents, it potentially causes them more problems.
It has long been levelled at Plaid Cymru that they are Labour's lapdog.
