The woman running 26 miles of the Welsh coast on Christmas Day
Western Mail
|November 26, 2025
Never mind a TV special and all you can eat turkey, Megan Boxall has a very different Christmas Day planned.
She will spend the whole Christmas period running through Wales, including running a marathon on Christmas Day.
Megan is trying to become the fastest female to run around the entire coastline of Britain.
She began her challenge on October 18 and is running 5,240 miles in 200 days, the equivalent of a marathon every single day.
But her mission is about more than breaking a record: It's a deeply personal journey shaped by family inspiration, mental health struggles, and a determination to highlight "how much good there still is in Britain"
One of Megan's biggest inspirations for this challenge is her uncle, who walked the British coastline when she was 10 after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. "It was amazing and so inspirational," she said. "I always had it in the back of my mind that one day I might do it too."
